Through the ROOF!® sealant exceeds other sealants in weathering during a UV-exposure test for the ASTM.
It’s official. Sashco’s Through the ROOF!® is scientifically proven to look better than roof asphalt and roof cement while lasting twenty times longer. Through the ROOF! ® dries crystal clear leaving the roof looking brand new rather than looking like a field of patches.
Through the ROOF!® is a clear, ultra-elastic roof repair caulk that can seal chimney leaks, flashing fails, skylight drips, stops annoying gutter leaks and permanently stops and prevents roof leaks — it can do it all.
According to lab reports published on Sashco’s website there is no room for argument that this sealant is a top performing. The tests consisted of applying Through the ROOF!®, and two popular asphalt-based roof sealants to 3” x 6” aluminum panels and exposed to the equivalent of 2,000 hours of intense UV exposure in the Xenon Arc weatherometer (a machine that simulates UV exposure at accelerated rates). The results? You guessed it, Through the ROOF!® remained intact after 2,000 hours of UV exposure while roofing cement started showing failure.
2,000 hours of UV exposure might sound like a lab extreme, however, a typical roof will easily be out in the sun this long from April through September. In the tests conducted by Sashco, the roofing cement started to show signs of deteriorating after just 100 hours of exposure (only 14 days!) while Through the ROOF!® stayed strong and clear.
This test goes to show how important it is to use an effective sealant to avoid leaks in the roof. Leaks that can lead to mold, damage, rot, insurance claims and headaches. Go for the sealant with a scientifically proven long-lasting seal, choose Through the ROOF!®.
