I WAS A TEAR OFF LABORER. I WORKED FOR THEM FOR A YEAR BEFORE MOVING BACK TO VANCOUVER WASAHINGTON. ONCE THERE I STARTED WORKING IN THE ROOFERS, WATERPROOFING UNION FOR A COMPANY CALLED MCDONALD AND WETLE THERE STARTING AS A LABORER I BEGAN MY APPRENTICESHIP WICH TOOK 4 YEARS TO GET MY JOURNEYMANS CARD.
I RECEIVED MY JOURNEYMANS CARD IN 1996 MAKING ME A JOURNEYMAN IN FLAT ROOFING, TO INCLUDE TORCHDOWN, TPO AND PVC MEMBRANES.
PITCHED ROOFS ALSO TPO INCLUDE TILE, CEDAR SHAKE AND SHINGLES AND METAL..I LEFT THE UNION IN 1999 AND WENT TO WORK FOR A NON UNION SHOP IN VANCOUVER WASHINGTON UNTILL 2005, WHERE I THEN MOVED TO CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA. THERE I CONTINUED TO ROOF AS AFOREMAN FOR LANG CONSTRUCTION..DURING THAT 4 YEAR PERIOD, I ALSO LEARNED AND BECAME A JOURNEYMEN IN DECK BUILDING.
THEN IN THE WINTER OF 2009 I MOVED BACK TO VANCOUVER WASHINGTON WHERE I WAS REHIRED BY THE SAME COMPANY I HAD WORKED FOR BEFORE MOVING TO IOWA..THEN IN 2016 I APPLIED FOR AND RECEIVED MY GENERAL CONTRACTORS LICENSE IN THE STATES OF OREGON AND WASHINGTON. MY COMPANY, CALLED TOPLINE CONSTRUCTION, ALSO DOES BUISNESS AS TOPLINE ROOFING CONTRACTORS.
WE'VE BEEN GOING STRONG SINCE 2016. I RUN THIS COMPANY AS A ROOFER WITH OVER 30 YEARS OF ACTUAL ROOFING EXPERINCE. I WALK AND INSPECT EVERY ROOF WE PUT ON AND TO MAKE SURE THAT MY GUYS USE SAFE WORK PROCEDURES.
