CORBETT, Ore. — A landslide in the Columbia River Gorge has closed the Historic Columbia River Highway at Crown Point indefinitely, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

ODOT via Tripcheck.com reported the slide on Saturday afternoon and said it was blocking the scenic highway in both directions at Vista House.

The landslide happened earlier this month. It started about 100 feet above the road and was likely caused by heavy rain and wind, ODOT said. The slide is about 110 feet wide and sent rock and mud onto both lanes of traffic. A semi-truck drove into the slide, but the driver was uninjured.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
