In a new Roofing Road Trips podcast, Heidi J. Ellsworth has a conversation with Vault Health Strategy’s Ted Ryan and NRCA insurance leader, Cheryl Ambrose, to talk about health insurance. The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) is committed to helping roofing companies find good healthcare options for their employees.
“There’s so many things that roofing contractors are dealing with on a daily basis as business owners navigating everything that’s going on in that construction, contracting climate, and then healthcare benefits for their employees,” says Cheryl. “Employee benefits, in general, are always a big thing, and so it’s very important… we want to do something that really works for our employees, but works for the company as well.”
NRCA has partnered with Vault Strategies to bring employee benefit solutions to all NRCA members — not just contractor members. Together, they are proud to offer customized health insurance benefit packages that offer measurable value for NRCA members. Attracting and retaining good employees is a challenge, and offering excellent employee benefits is an effective way to address the labor shortage.
“We are a resource for the members to call as they are considering their healthcare options going into 2023,” says Ted. “All employers really value benefits. They value their employees, they see them as a retention tool, they see them as a recruiting tool, so it’s an important facet to any organization.”
However, with rising costs, higher deductibles and a lot of confusion, the best healthcare options are not always readily apparent to contractors and small business owners. The NRCA developed this program as a way to address the gaps that may exist in a contractor’s business and to develop a customized plan for employers of any size with full- and part-time employees.
“What we’ve discovered is that not all members are equal. They all have very specific needs,” says Ted. “We understand that the insurance market can be overwhelming to the layperson, and that when you have hundreds of carriers in the marketplace with hundreds of different products, all with different bells and whistles, that’s an overwhelming thing for the layperson to really sift through. Our trained inside sales team is very adept at quickly identifying what your needs are, and can very quickly move through the process to get some options to you that would meet your needs.”
